Exterior problems for Calgary hotels and motels
Hotels and motels are judged on first impressions and guest reviews. Exterior damage affects both, and a leak can take rooms out of service.
- Hail. Damaged roofs, cracked siding, dented canopies and eavestroughs, often across several buildings on one property.
- Wind. Loose shingles, flashing and cladding on tall walls and exposed highway sites.
- Roof leaks into rooms. Flat roofs over upper floors and lobbies leak when drains clog or seams wear. See preventing commercial flat roof leaks.
- Chinook freeze–thaw. Stucco cracks, failed window sealant and ice at entrances and walkways.
- Wear on exterior corridors. Motels with exterior walkways and doors see heavy use and weather on every unit entrance.

Staying open while we work
Most hotel and motel owners can’t close for exterior work, so we plan the job around occupancy.
- Phased work. We work one wing, building or elevation at a time, so you can block only the rooms affected.
- Quiet hours. Noisy work is scheduled for daytime hours agreed with your manager, away from early check-outs and late arrivals.
- Guest safety. Entrances, walkways and parking stay open with marked, protected routes wherever we’re working overhead.
- A tidy property. Debris is removed daily and materials are staged out of guest view where possible.
- One point of contact. Your general manager deals with one project manager who coordinates schedule and room blocks.
Storm damage and insurance
After hail or wind, our HAAG-certified inspectors document the damage and we work with your adjuster on the claim. See our insurance claims page. Total Exteriors has been in business since 2014 and is BBB accredited with an A+ rating since 2017.
We also work on condo buildings, retail stores and industrial buildings.
Areas we serve
We work on commercial properties across Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere, Crossfield, Irricana, Beiseker and Rocky View County. Our office is at Unit 145, 1610 104 Avenue NE, Calgary.

What happens if a roof leak is affecting guest rooms?
Call our 24/7 emergency line at (403) 407-0208. We’ll stop the water first, then plan a permanent repair.
