Total Exteriors Ltd. (“Total Exteriors”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and in the course of our work, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form: your first and last name, email address, phone number, address, postal code, the type of service you are asking about and any details you add.
- Report a Claim form: your name, email address, phone number, property address, what the claim is about, photos of the damage you choose to upload, whether you have property insurance, your insurance provider and your insurance policy or account number.
- Calls, emails and site visits: information you share with us by phone or email, and information about your property that we record while inspecting, quoting or completing work, such as photos, measurements, damage reports and correspondence with your insurer or adjuster.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. It collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the device and browser you use, your approximate location and, where Google has it, general demographic and interest information. It uses cookies to do this.
- Server and security logs: our hosting provider records technical information such as IP address, browser type and the date and time of each request, to keep the site running and secure.
How we use your information
- To respond to your questions and requests and to prepare estimates and quotes.
- To schedule and carry out inspections, repairs and renovations.
- To document damage and manage insurance claims on your behalf when you ask us to.
- To send invoices, provide warranty service and keep business records.
- To improve our website and services.
- To meet legal, regulatory, tax and insurance obligations.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for purposes you would not reasonably expect without asking for your consent first.
Consent
By submitting a form, calling or emailing us, you consent to us collecting and using your information for the purposes described here. You can withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting us. If you withdraw consent, we may not be able to provide some services, such as handling your insurance claim.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed for the purposes above:
- Your insurance company and adjusters, when you ask us to handle or support a claim.
- Trades, subcontractors and suppliers who help complete your project, limited to what they need to do the work.
- Service providers that run our website and communications, including our web host (Hostinger), our email delivery service (Brevo), Google (Analytics and Google Maps) and Trustindex (which displays our Google reviews). These providers may only use the information to provide their services to us.
- Authorities or other parties when required or permitted by law.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. When information is held outside Canada, it is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its authorities.
Cookies and third-party content
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. This site uses cookies for basic functionality and for Google Analytics. Pages may also include content from other services, such as an embedded Google Map or our Google reviews, and those services may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Links to our Facebook and LinkedIn pages take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes it was collected for, including any warranty period and our legal, tax and insurance record-keeping obligations. When it is no longer needed, we securely destroy it or make it anonymous.
How we protect it
We use reasonable physical, administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to this website and limiting access to staff and providers who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send us banking or payment card details through the website forms.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask how it has been used or shared. Send your request to our Privacy Officer. We will respond within the time required by law, and we may need to confirm your identity first.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This website is intended for adults and property owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
